Jonathan D. LaCrosse, Founder & Managing Member Jonathan D. LaCrosse is the Founder of Gabriel Horn Capital, LLC, an alternative investment placement firm dedicated to raising capital for funds and deals. He has more than 20 years of alternative investment experience, including fundraising sales in excess of $4.5 billion in assets, investing more than $4 billion in 165 funds, secondaries and co-investments, and roles on 35 Board Director and Advisory Boards. Previously, he was Co-Founder, President and CEO of Trusted Insight, Inc, the largest online alternative investment marketplace focused on matching investments across new funds, secondary transactions and co-investments. Members include 400+ institutional investors from 90 countries. During his tenure at Trusted Insight, Mr. LaCrosse led a Series A financing from premier venture capitalists and leading financial technology angel investors. From 2006-2009, Mr. LaCrosse was a Founding Partner of Centinela Capital Partners, LLC (separate accounts with CalPERS), an alternative investment fund-of-funds with over $1 billion of assets under management and a focus on emerging managers. He was an investment committee member involved in the approval of over $825 million to 41 deals and served on 7 advisory boards. From 1994-2006, Mr. LaCrosse was an Investment Officer at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation where he was in charge of its private equity, below investment grade credit and real assets strategies, including sourcing, executing, and monitoring investments. He led all efforts with regards to due diligence on investment proposals, the negotiating and structuring of key investment terms in partnership agreements, building of financial models and the trading of in-kind distributions from leveraged buyout and venture capital funds. Mr. LaCrosse was responsible for investing over $3.1 billion in 121 alternative investment funds, including over $730 million in 37 emerging manager funds. While at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Mr. LaCrosse served on 25 advisory boards across the following types of funds: buyouts, venture capital, growth, secondary, mezzanine, distressed, real estate, timber, and fund-of-funds. Mr. LaCrosse earned an M.B.A. from Rider University and B.S. from Rowan Uni8versity. He holds the Series 7, 63, and 79 securities licenses.
Brett Nelson Managing Partner Denver Previously, Brett was Co-Founder of Bright Harbor Advisors – a global placement advisory firm.  Prior to that a Principal and Head of Global Private Equity for Aon Hewitt, a $1 trillion AUM consulting firm providing customized discretionary and non-discretionary alternative asset advisory services. In this capacity he was responsible for portfolio design, investment selection, and asset allocation to global institutional clients. In addition, he created and served as President & CEO of the firm’s Secondary Market Services, assisting clients with the liquidity of private market partnerships. Previously, he was a Principal of INVESCO Private Capital investing in private equity partnerships and secondaries. Brett has invested in excess of $8 billion in private equity and alternative assets. He began his career with PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLC specializing in corporate finance. He holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University and a MBA from the LeBow College of Business at Drexel University and completed continuing education course work in Management at The University of Pennsylvania. He holds the Series 7, 63, 65 & 39 licenses.
Kevin McCaffrey, Vice President Kevin McCaffrey is a Vice President at Gabriel Horn Capital, LLC, where he focuses on business development, deal origination, and raising capital. He will also expand the firm’s reach and highlight clients’ expertise in relevant events and media. He has more than 20 years of financial and operational experience across corporate environments and the capital markets – including private equity, venture capital, real estate, equities trading, equity research, and market research. Before joining the team, Kevin built the PartnerConnect conference series for Thomson Reuters. Starting with the launch in 2011, his focus was connecting institutional investors with fund managers by leveraging events and media services through several acquisitions. He presided over 12,000 pre-screened LP/GP meetings and accelerated fundraising efforts for hundreds of funds in Private Equity and Venture Capital primarily. Mr. McCaffrey also launched market research services for Frost & Sullivan and equity research services for a NYSE Broker/Dealer following a successful exit from his own real estate and construction company. Kevin earned a B.S. (Industrial Engineering) from Lehigh University, where he also played Division I Lacrosse. He holds the Series 79 securities license.
Pete Arethas, Vice President Pete Arethas is a Vice President at Gabriel Horn Capital LLC, where he connects family offices and institutional investors to private equity, venture capital funds and early-stage startups. He has over 25 years of wealth management, business development and capital raising experience. He also has funded and sourced early-stage venture capital investments primarily in FinTech for the last 2 years. Before joining Lacrosse Investments, Mr. Arethas was one of 25 people selected from over 5,000 global applicants to join Venture University’s Cohort 3 and Cohort 4 Accelerator in San Francisco where he was part of the FinTech vertical. Mr. Arethas’s career in wealth management saw him run a boutique broker-dealer as president and helped the multi-generational family ownership prepare the firm for sale. He also was the wealth management leader and supervisory principal of one of the most productive Private Client Advisor teams at JPMorgan Chase. Mr. Arethas earned a B.S. (Business Economics) from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and M.B.A (Financial Analysis) from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business. Mr. Arethas is an adjunct professor of economics and business strategy at Saint Xavier University’s Graham School of Business and he holds his FINRA Series 7 (General Securities) license.
O. Victor Lattanzi, Vice President Mr. Lattanzi has over 30 years of investment banking and corporate advisory experience with both public and privately held corporations. Prior to joining Gabriel Horn Capital, Victor founded Investment Capital Group which provided private equity funding and recapitalization services to a wide range of industries including technology, biotech, healthcare, education, consumer services and manufacturing. Victor has also led the expansion of two Dallas based middle market investment banks where he utilized his extensive knowledge and operational experience in the energy sector, having been actively involved in the oil & gas business in East Texas and then turning to M&A full time. Originally a Boston native, Victor started his career in commercial real estate there with Coldwell Banker. Victor’s educational background includes an A.B. degree from Harvard College where he was recognized as an All-Ivy student athlete for his performance both in the classroom and on the football field. Victor is fluent in three languages.
Mike Kinney, Advisor at Gabriel Horn Capital, LLC Over the course of his 25 year career in Institutional Sales, Mike has served as Vice President/Regional Director for financial institutions such as Nuveen, Van Kampen, and American Realty Capital.  He has successfully raised more than $2B from both the public and private sectors. Along the way, cultivating deep relationships with Institutions, Family Offices, Registered investment Advisors (RIA’s) and Ultra High net Worth Individuals.Mike brings the diversified skill sets of raising capital, consulting to mergers/acquisitions, Capital Markets and product distribution. Product Knowledge & Experience includes mutual funds, separately managed accounts, non-traded REIT’s, Reg D’s & private placements, Hedge Funds, and Master Limited Partnerships. After many years in corporate finance, Mr. Kinney went on his own and founded Capital Group LLC.  CG focuses on designing business development & capital markets strategies for under the radar asset managers, real estate private placements, non-profit organizations, start-up ventures and social impact investments here in the states and overseas.
Ryan J. Hurst, Advisor at Gabriel Horn Capital, LLC Ryan J. Hurst is an Advisor at Gabriel Horn Capital LLC, LLC. He is currently Director of Business Development and Investor Relations at Motiv Power Systems, Inc where he joined in 2013 and has since led all of the institutional capital raises, enabling the company to pioneer the software and power electronics market it now leads for medium duty, commercial electric vehicles. He is also Co-Founder & Partner at Hurst Investments, a private family office established in 2018. Previously, Ryan was Co-Founder and Development Partner of Blackhorn Ventures Capital Management from 2015-2017 and Founder & CEO of Liber, LLC, a business development & investment company from 1999-2015. Ryan has decades of experience managing investments ranging from public markets to early stage ventures. Through his active investments, Ryan has led all aspects of business and corporate development with versatility across a wide range of industries from finance to engineering-based companies. In 2019, Ryan was appointed by Colorado Governor Jared Polis to the Regional Air Quality Council’s Board of Directors, citing his long-term passion for clean air and vehicle electrification. Ryan has a BBA in Finance from SMU and holds Series 82 and 63 licenses. He lives in Denver and has climbed all of the 55 official 14,000 foot peaks in Colorado.
